My Comments

Hi Marcella,

I think you have a great project proposal and I enjoyed the humour you have included in your first book review. The use of gifs in your post adds even more interest and connects to online users. Unfortunately, some of these gifs cover part of your review. Hopefully, you find a way to fix this. My suggestion is to change the text formatting of your post as it is a little awkward to read. I recommend getting rid of the shadow behind the text. Also, if you change the colour of the text box from pink/peach to something that matches better to your background it will improve the overall look, in my opinion. Maybe a beige or light blue, to match the cool toned books. As for the content of your writing, I thought it was well written and I enjoyed reading your opinions of the book. Great job.

Hey Yeyoung,

I agree with Alice and I love how you not only did a direct translation, but also a more correct translation so that the song makes sense in Japanese too and you also sung the Japanese version! (I'm assuming that it's you who is singing)

It was a little confusing though, listening to the music and trying to follow the lyrics you posted and took a little bit before I realised the lyrics were not in order. Maybe you could post the track on this page as well? You could also colour coordinate as well and make the titles on the previous page different colours (Verses/choruses/bridge) and then change the text on this page to match, I think it would help people who aren't fluent with Japanese like myself.

Hi Matthew,

I'm very impressed with your blog and your photographs are so beautiful! I agree with you with the black and white look, I love putting black and white filters on photos I post. It can enhance a photo so much. Of course, your photos are way better than any I’ve ever taken. I like how your posts are very informative and I learned quite a bit about taking pictures and the different styles and techniques you can use to enhance a photo. I was just thinking if maybe it would’ve been better to use your own photos instead of taking them from other photographer, but either way it still worked well and supported your posts well. Good job!

Hi Megan!

This is such an incredible idea for a blog! I have dabbled in some baking here and there, mostly the simple things, but what you’ve done here is amazing. When I think of old recipes, I think of recipes in your grandmother’s cookbook and I would have never thought about the origin of a recipe, like you’ve done here with your carrot cake. Your pictures are as good as your posts and the way you’ve styled each bake with your theme of British History is perfect. I’ve never seen a food blog quite like this. You should definitely continue with this blog, I’ll be one of your followers attempting to recreate what you’ve done here (doubt I would be half as good though haha). Great work!

Hi!
I love your blog! The garments you’ve made are really nice. I think this red blouse is my favourite. I actually bought a sewing machine with the intent to learn to sew, but I haven’t started because it’s a little overwhelming and I don’t know where to start. Reading your blog, it makes me hopeful. I wished you would have taken pictures of your progress though, it would’ve been nice to see each garment from scratch to finish. However, I’m impressed with all of the work you’ve produced and you’ve taken great photos of each garment. Great job!

Hi Kassandra,

Great Job! Although I may not be able to know how accurate your translations are, I was able to read the English version easily and understand what was happening. I’m glad you didn’t just do a direct translation and made the effort to translate the story so that it would make sense in English too. I also like that you added in a glossary.

My only gripe is your layout. I feel like the text is too big and putting each sentence so far apart is unnecessary, but that’s just me. I just think it would be better if you didn’t have to scroll down so much just to get to the bottom of the page and that the story would be easier to read if your text was smaller and you didn’t have so much space in between each group of text. Also, I agree with Ryan when he says that 1 hour seems short. I assume it’s because you drafted your translations before posting the final copy. Other than that, I enjoyed reading these first few pages.
